Dear Parents, Teachers, and Students,
We enjoyed greeting many of our freshman students and their parents the past two evenings at the Freshman Welcome. We hope they enjoyed their evening, and we look forward to greeting them again on the first days of school. If you were still away on vacation or were otherwise unable to make the meeting, your freshman student will receive their school calendar in homeroom. On Wednesday, September 3rd, the Freshman students will report to school for their opening day of the year. On that day, their pictures will be taken for the yearbook and for student I.D. badges. All students will be receiving information about pricing and package orders during the weeks before school begins. It has been mailed to your home. Please make sure your student brings the picture envelope to school on the day that they are scheduled for pictures. It is used to identify the pictures as they are taken. Every student must sit for their picture, but purchase of the pictures is not required. Throughout this year, any student that does not report to homeroom because of educational pursuits outside of the Shanahan building will be able to pick up all homeroom materials when they sign in at the Office of Student Services ( Discipline/Attendance Office) each day. These students include CAT Brandywine programs, and Diocesan Scholars. It is the responsibility of each student to retrieve all their materials, and this is especially important for senior students who will need to sign off on diploma information, and be measured for their cap and gown during the first days of school. Every student should then report to the main office to read the daily announcements so that they are aware of information that has been given to the rest of the student body. The School Calendar has been placed on the web page and information about the activities for the coming year has been posted. It will be helpful to check this information page often during the year, but if you need help or additional information, please do not hesitate to e-mail, or phone. I am happy to be at your service whenever you need information or anything else. I pray for God's blessing on all of us as we begin this new school year, and am looking forward to a great year! May the sacrifices that you are making in order to send your sons and daughters to Shanahan for a Catholic Education bring blessings to you and your family for years to come! Sincerely, Ms. Stranix
