The Spiritual Life of Bishop Shanahan is under the guidance of Father Matt Guckin, the School Minister. A Catholic culture permeates the entire school. Every day and every class begins with prayer as we dedicate our efforts to the glory of God. The Sacrifice of the Mass is offered daily and everyone in the Shanahan community is invited and encouraged to participate. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered on a regular basis and two priests (Father Guckin, and Father Kevin McCabe) are available daily for anyone who needs to meet. In March, our school celebrates the annual Forty Hours of Eucharistic Devotion. All of the students are invited to spend time with our Eucharistic Lord at this special time. Throughout the year, a day is set aside each week for Eucharistic Adoration while Communion Prayer Services occur during every lunch period. Retreats are provided for each class and the entire faculty during the year. The best retreat that is offered is our Kairos Retreat which is conducted four times a year and is open to all Senior students. Bishop Shanahan High School is a place where the Gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed with joy! | ||||||
